The investigation behind Sushant Singh Rajput’s decision to end his life has been on for a while now. Yesterday we saw filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali being summoned by the police for questioning. According to the latest update, Bhansali was questioned by the police for 2 hours and below is what the maverick director had to say.
For the unversed, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s name surfaced in the list of people to be interrogated, after the news that he was keen on casting Sushant Singh Rajput broke in. Bhansali wanted to cast Sushant in Ramleela, but the contract with YRF didn’t allow the actor to give a nod.
As per a Mumbai Mirror report, Sushant was upset that the contract stopped him from working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In the same report, a police officer involved with Bhansali’s questioning said, “The statement of Bhansali centred around his (Bhansali’s) conversation with Rajput after the film/s fell through because of the earlier contractual conditions.”

By now police has investigated 29 people in the case. The names include Rhea Chakraborty, Mahesh Shetty, Mukesh Chhabra, Sanjana Sanghi and others.
Reportedly, the next person to record his statement will be filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Buzz is that the filmmaker roped in Sushant Singh Rajput for his film Paani, that never went on floors.
