It seems Bollywood is gearing up for a big clash with two most awaited films releasing back to back in December. Salman Khan- starrer Dabangg 2 will release on December 21 while Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan will be releasing on December 12.


With the two films releasing just one week apart, it will not be a surprise to see them hardly getting a good week at the box office. None of the films are likely to change its schedules and it seems there will be clash at the Box office.


After a change in director, to a mishap on the sets, Dabangg 2 is finally ready for release. On the other hand, Rajinikanth, who is paired opposite Deepika Padukone in the film, was ill for quite sometime but still managed to pull off the film.


We will soon know the fate of the two movies.

Veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan feels " Ek Tha Tiger" will be a landmark in his actor son Salman's career.
Director Kabir Khan, showed the film to the the eminent writer, and he is quite happy with it.

"Showed 'Ek Tha Tiger' to a living legend of screenwriting in Hindi cinema. At the end of the film he hugged me and said - 'Ab sojao beta..'. With a beaming smile he said - 'it's a landmark film for Salman'. It was the man whose films we saw and studied in film school. It was Salim Khan," Kabir tweeted.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, "Ek Tha Tiger", slated for release Aug 15, will see Salman-Katrina on silver screen after four years. Their last film together was 2008 release "Yuvvraaj.

This month�s first mega release - Bol Bachchan had a massive box office opening. The movie has put yet another feather in the cap for the successful duo, Ajay Devgn & Rohit Shetty, in addition with a new entrant in this team - Abhishek Bachchan. Bloomberg UTV caught up with Abhishek Bachchan and Rohit Shetty, basking in the glory of the film�s success.


Bol Bachchan, released on July 6, had collected Rs 67 crore in its first week and Rs 83 crore in ten days. Also, looking at its steady run at the box-office, it would not be a surprise if it hits the desirable 100-crore mark.

Unlike early days, in recent times we have seen several movies registering their names in this coveted club. What is making it possible for the movies to get this tag more easily than before? Speaking to the channel, actor Abhishek Bachchan said, �we have managed to crack the exhibition business and are managing to get the product out to more and more people. Total number of screens has gone up, ticket sales are growing. I would not be surprised if every month there�s a Rs 100-crore movie, and just one movie which has collected Rs 200 crore. We can beat that soon.�

Coming back to Bol Bachchan, since the movie is still running in the theatres, it is difficult to analysis whether its a profitable venture for its distributor - Fox Star Studios or not, but the critics weren�t kind to the film. So how does this team take to criticism - not just from the media but from the audience at large? To this director Rohit Shetty said, �if you don�t like the film, it doesn�t mean it is crap. My job is not to make a difference to the society.�

However, on the other hand, actor Abhishek Bachchan said that he is very sensitive to criticism. �I would want to know why you have not liked the film for educational purposes. Rohit has become indifferent; I hope I am like him. Even if one person doesn�t like my work. I am going to ask him why and try to win him over,� he added

Son Of Sardar�s trailer might become Sardar Community�s poster statement. The whole narration is so true and unapologetic that you instantly connect with it. But that�s not all what the trailer entails. So let�s find out what else this first look trailer of the movie promises to offer when it releases.
There is no two ways about the fact that it looks a bit similar to Bol Bachchan as far its genre is concerned. Both are action comedies with Ajay Devgan in one of the lead roles. Yet Son Of Sardar has managed to show some uniqueness. First, apart from Ajay and the action genre, nothing is common between the two. Here, he has Sanjay Dutt as his other co-star rather than Abhishek Bachchan and will be seen romancing Sonakshi Sinha, instead of Asin. Also, there are no over-the-top stunts where you see men and cars flying at equal pace. Moreover, the Sikh connect in the movie has made it even more alluring.
Some of the gags do make you laugh. But if it hasn�t been the case with you yet, we are sure there will be more such jests for you to laugh on. As for Sonakshi, she has this knack of gelling with all the 40+ actors with great �lan. She looks good with Devgan but we think she kind of looks too fat in one of the sequence. Sanjay Dutt with his flowing hairdo gives an eerie feeling while Juhi Chawla is a welcome and very refreshing change. From the looks of it, she has a very peppy track in the movie and we are totally looking forward to it. All in all, Son Of Sardar seems stuffed with everything that can make cinegoers go for it. I guess we can safely say Ajay Devgan is in the running for yet another hit this year after Bol Bachchan!

The plan for the sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana is verily in the works and we hear that Katrina Kaif is being sought to play the female lead in the film. 

The Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel will once again have the two strapping Deols -- Sunny Deol and chhota bhai Bobby Deol -- apart from, of course, the jolly and genial Dharmendra. 

The film is likely to go on floors by August end and Bobby Deol confirms that the shooting will be held in Birmingham and other parts of England. Given the shooting location, we won�t be surprised if the leading lady of the film is from England, a role that would perfectly suit Katrina Kaif. 

Moreover, Katrina has already worked with Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol and Dharmendra in the 2007 film Apne. So there�s a comfort level she must share with the three Deols. 

On the flip side, Katrina Kaif might fear getting relegated to the sidelines in a movie that is exclusively going to be an all-out Deol show. 

Pros and cons considered, the Deols, we hear, also have other options open in case Katrina turns down the offer. 

The Yamla Pagla Deewana sequel will be directed by Sangeeth Sivan.

The makers of Barfi! have come up with a cool promotional strategy. Cashing in on Priyanka Chopra�s good voice, RK�s charm and Ileana�s penchant for music, the marketing honchos have decided to make all of them sing while they are touring the country to promote the film. PC plans to utilise her singing talent to the fullest on this promotional tour and we hear that Ileana has a thing or two for crooning. It seems Chopra and D�Cruz would often slip into sudden jamming sessions while shooting for Barfi!  and they bonded over many such musical meetings.
Looks like the actors are all set for some fun and frolic. And while Ranbir has already done something similar while promoting Rockstar, we are sure this is an absolutely new domain for PC and D�Cruz. This whole promotional idea sounds interesting to us, at least way better than actors simply hammering home the idea that their movie is the best and how if we won�t watch it, we will end up missing out on something that is out-and-out remarkable. Phew!

New Delhi: Some time ago, speculations were rife that Bong bombshell Bipasha Basu is keen to start her life anew post her break up with John Abraham. And for that matter, she has reportedly been sending feelers to Salman Khan showing her interest to work with him.
Now with the way things are happening in Bips� favour, it seems that her dream is not far from being realised. On the evening of July 22, Bipasha and Salman were spotted dining at a restaurant in Bandra by three people who took to twitter (see pic) in excitement to tell the world about their celeb sighting.

Industry insiders have revealed that Bipasha might be signed by Salman�s brother Sohail Khan for a song in his next production, which has tentatively been titled �Sher Khan�. No wonder, all the big, small and amateur actresses these days are making a beeline before Sallu after realising his star power that had turned a struggler like Katrina Kaif into a bankable star.

But we really wonder whether this date was meant to serve just a single purpose or is there something else cooking up?

Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif's new film title will be officially unveiled only after Ek Tha Tiger releases.

Yash Raj Films, producer of both movies, reportedly does not want to publicize the title until the Salman Khan film is in cinemas.

"After discussing lots of potential ideas, Yashji has finalized a title that everybody is incredibly excited about," said a production source. 

"Fans of the classic Yash Raj romance will not be disappointed when they hear what he's named his first film in eight years."

It was previously rumored that the project would be called London Ishq, and later Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum.

"Yashji knows that fans and the media alike will go into a frenzy when they hear what he's come up with, which references a well-known Hindi film dialog," the insider added.

"That's why he's keeping tight lipped about the title until the release of Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger gets over and promotions kick in after Eid on the Shah Rukh starrer."

The film, which also features Anushka Sharma and Anupam Kher, is expected to release in November.

MUMBAI, July 23 -- The latest addition to actor Salman Khan's kitty of endorsements is a footwear brand. For the commercial that is currently on air, the actor has supposedly been paid over R2 crore. And that's not all. In addition, a portion of the sales from the collection will be donated to his charity, Being Human.

A source close to the actor tells us, "Salman has been paid somewhere between R2 crore to R5 crore."
Apparently, the shoot of the commercial was delayed because Salman wasn't too pleased with the script that was initially presented to him. "He wanted a few changes, which were promptly made. After which, they immediately fixed the dates," adds the source.

But even getting time from the actor was not easy as he has been busy promoting his upcoming film, Ek Tha Tiger, while shooting for brother Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg 2. The source adds, "He's also been travelling a lot, so fixing one particular day took a while. But it all worked out."

They say that old habits die hard, but not for Salman Khan.

According to sources, the actor has become a teetotaller and has also given up smoking. The primary reason behind the same could be the actor's recent health scare. (Read: Actors should forget health issues while shooting: Salman)

A source said, "Salman bhai is in his prime. He is enjoying success like never before and has become extremely disciplined. After his health scare around a year back due to trigeminal neuralgia (nerve pain), Salman does not want to hamper the recovery process any more. That's why he decided that he would quit smoking and drinking."

Apparently, it has been nearly five months now that Salman Khan has not had a smoke or a drink. Also, in spite of him partying like before, word is that he has made sure he stays away from any such bad habits. (Read: Ek Tha Tiger satellite rights sold for Rs 75 crore?)

The source added, "Salman is also making sure that he finishes his films as per schedule and is always present on the sets on time. He is also taking keen interest in every aspect of the film making including the promotions which he never did earlier."

Interestingly Salman, who had been asked by his doctors not to smoke every since his last health scare, has apparently found an innovative way to get rid of the habit. Word is that Salman holds a cigarette in his hand but puffs on it without actually lighting it. Pooja Bhatt sure knows the perfect recipe for a film to be hit � controversy, controversy, controversy. And controversy is a synonym for �Jism 2�. Ever since its incipience in the mind of the director, the film has raised many eyebrows and created waves the likes of tsunamis in the country.


This time around, it is porn star Sunny Leone � like most other times � who is at the crux of the controversy. A PIL has been slammed against Sunny Leone in the Allahabad High Court. The PIL seeks a stay on the release of the film, and has challenged the provisions of the law, which define the powers of the Censor Board in India. �Jism 2� has not yet been cleared by the CBFC, Zee News reported.

Activist Rakesh Nayayik, a resident of Varanasi, has filed the PIL, which objects the presence of the Canadian adult film actress Sunny Leone in the film. Advocate SMA Kazmi, the legal counsel who is handling the case, has elaborated, �We have sought a stay order on the release of �Jism 2� because of the sexually explicit content of the movie, and the inclusion of Sunny Leone in the film, for the adverse moral impact that her presence would have on society.�

Several sections of the Indian Cinematography Act of 1952 have been challenged by Kazmi and Nayayik. The hearing in the case has been postponed until August 8. Incidentally, the film �Jism 2� is slated to hit theatres on August 3, 2012. Actor Arjun Rampal who was back home after a long stint of set-hopping is currently shooting for a cameo for the film Ajab Gazab Love. The actor is doing a small role in the film for friends, actor JackkyBhagnani andfilmmaker VashuBhagnani and is currently in Indore. The actor who was in Cannes for three days flew straight to MadhyaPradesh to be on the sets of filmmaker Prakash Jha�sChakravyuh. Before that he was shooting for Madhur 
Bhandarkar�sHeroine. The actor, who is paired with actor Kareena Kapoor in the film, only has nice things to say about his co-star. Talking about her, he had earlier said, �Bebo is a fabulous co-star. We share a great working relationship. She is fun and easy to work with. It was great fun shooting for Heroine. Also since we have worked together before in We Are Family, we had a blast,� says Arjun.

Recently, Arjun also revealed about his role in Heroine. A source close to him gives us a few details. �Kareena obviously plays an actress and Arjunplays the role of a superstar. A much-married superstar who has an affair with Bebo. Arjun is very excited about the film and is all praises for Kareena. He has been telling everyone how Bebo has outdone herself in the film.Arjun too is awaiting the film�s release since he hasn�t played a role like this.�

Besides work, the actor is gearing up to take off to Bali for his annual family vacation. The actor who is quite regular on micro-blogging site, Twitter recently posted, �Filming in Indore, for Ajab Gazab Love. Few more days, then vacation time for me. It will be Bali this year, never been. Looking fwd to it.� A source close to him says he is super-excited about his vacation since he is going to be having a couple of friends along with him this time.

�Arjunis very close to actor Hrithik Roshan and his wife Sussanne. Also since quite sometime, Arjun hasn�t had the time to go out with his family so this time; he has planned a vacation and included his friends as well. Both the families will be in Bali for a week�s time and will then return to Mumbai by the end of the month. Also he chose Bali as he has always wanted to visit Indonesia. Plus his family is a total beach addict so he carefully chose a destination that will have lots of sun, sand and surf.�

KARACHI: The two newbies in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma made their debut along with superstar Shahrukh Khan, but they share professional rivalry among themselves.

The recent buzz is that Anushka Sharma is impressed by the role of �Veronica� played by leggy beauty Deepika Padukone.
�Cocktail� which was released last week got a massive response from the audience and generated so much revenue for the film. It has been much appreciated by the multiplex crowd.

Sharma, after watching the movie was so impressed with Padukone�s acting that despite the competition she sent a congratulatory text to Padukone.

Arjun Kapoor says he could not stand his Ishaqzaade lead heroine Parineeti Chopra during their training days in Lucknow.
�I hated Parineeti when we went for those three days ... We didn�t really get along at that point of time,� the 27-year-old said here Thursday while talking to students at filmmaker Subhash Ghai�s acting school Whistling Woods International.
�We both couldn�t stand each other when she got finalised. I liked what she did in the audition, so I couldn�t ever disagree that she would not be right for the role,� he added.
Meanwhile, Ishaqzaade director Habib Faisal commented upon the wicked smile that Kapoor sports in the film, and said: �His smile, if you have seen the film, that smile is Arjun Kapoor�s own smile, which I then made Parma�s smile. That smiles suggests shrewd, romance, a psycho ... there was so much I could do with the smile, and that smile was Arjun Kapoor�s own smile.
Kapoor will now be seen in Yash Raj Films� Virus Diwan and has also been finalised for 2 States.

Hottie Diana Penty, who made her debut in Bollywood film Cocktail starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, is getting ready for her new film. The buzz is that the actor has been approached by Tamil film maker for the film Biriyani.
Rumours has it that she might give a nod to act in the film.


According to reports, Director Venkat Prabhu, who has already signed Richa Gangopadhyay to play one of the female leads, wants to cast Diana Penty in second lead. In fact, she was the first choice of the director, as he wants to cast a fresh face.


Diana Penty is yet to sign the film. Biryani is a suspense-thriller starring Karthi.

Mumbai: Looks like Ayaan Mukerji's upcoming film with Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor may not be able to meet its release date that is presently slotted for March 2013.
In fact, thanks to Ayaan's constant reworking on the script, the film�s previous deadline of January of the same year had to be postponed to two months later.
Our source from the sets says, "Ayaan is constantly working on his script. The shoot was scheduled for only 45 days but it has been overshot by a long mark, leading to an increase in the budget." A crewmember from the film tells us, "Quite a bit of the film is yet to be shot. This delay has caused problems for the actors in the film as some of them have lost out other projects because of this date drama as.
Now the actors are required to give their dates to shoot the remaining portion. Since this is a Karan Johar production, they let other offers go. For instance, Kalki has lost out on two film offers."

Ranbir Kapoor has been keeping rather busy even after wrapping up his day's shoot. And it's not because he is partying too hard. TOI has learnt that the actor, while shooting for his upcoming film Barfi!has picked up a new hobby - photography. 

In fact, with some tips from the DOP of the film, he has turned quite an ace lensman himself. An insider revealed, "Ranbir has always been keen on photography. But due to his busy schedule, he never really got time to explore it. While shooting for Barfi!outdoors, he sat with the DOP and learnt about lenses, camera angles and more. 


He used to click pictures on the sets and even when not shooting. He has finalised around 30 nice snaps (including that of Pee Cee's above)" According to another source, the makers of the film now wish to unveil these pictures during the promotional campaign, either as a coffee table book or as an exhibition.

Shahid Kapoor has wised up. After a string of flops, the first decision he has taken is to move out of his lover boy image.
Second, he is not feeling shy of reaching out to filmmakers of repute and sharing his enthusiasm about pairing up with them for the kind of films which he has never done before.

"For starters, he has anyways signed a film with Prabhudheva which would be an action masala affair. He has never done a film like that and the closest he came to action was 'Kaminey'.

However this one would be more filmy and commercial. Secondly he is moving ahead with the Yash Raj film, shooting of which is expected to commence next week itself.
Even director Maneesh Sharma would be now changing tracks after 'Band Baaja Baaraat' and 'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl' which belonged to the feel good genre.
Expect something different in his collaboration with Shahid now", informs our source.

This isn't all as there are a couple of other projects in the anvil which are expected to kick-start by middle of next year.
What makes them special is the fact that yet again, it would be action doing the calling.

"Failure of 'Teri Meri Kahaani' and 'Mausam' could shake up anyone. Just a couple of years back he was looking at the top of the ladder and today he is challenged big time by the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan and Emraan Hashmi who came after him", the source continues, "Being a 'punjab ka munda' film after film won't really work for him.
He has to reinvent himself and is entrusting faith upon the new set of filmmakers.

Next one year is very crucial for him and he is taking his time before firing all cylinders."
Now all one is waiting for is an official confirmation to come from the man at the hot seat.
