2020 hasn’t been a kind year to many. Within 15 days of losing one brother, veteran actor Dilip Kumar has now lost his younger brother Ehsan Khan. Ehsan, who was 90 years at the time of his death, breathed his last yesterday. He passed away around 11 pm at Lilavati Hospital.
Ehsan, who had tested COVID-19 positive, also suffered from heart disease, hypertension, and Alzheimer’s, according to the Lilavati Hospital.
Dilip Kumar’s brothers, Aslam Khan and Eshan Khan were admitted to Lilavati Hospital last month after Aslam complained of breathlessness. Their oxygen saturation had dropped below 80%. Both brothers tested positive for COVID-19 and were being treated at the coronavirus ward of the hospital.

As per Times Of India, both Ehsaan Khan and Aslam Khan were on a non-invasive ventilator. Members of Dilip Kumar’s family were aware of their critical condition and knew their chances of survival were slim. Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati, under whose care Ehsaan Khan had been admitted, has confirmed the death.
On August 21, Kumar’s brother Aslam Khan (88 years) passed away. Aside from testing COVID-19 positive, he also suffered from diabetes, hypertension and ischaemic heart disease.
In April, Dilip Kumar wrote a poem urging people to stay home. His four-line poem read, “Dawa bhi, dua bhi Auron se faslaa bhi Ghareeb ki khidmat Kamzor ki seva bhi.” Along with these lines, he also tweeted, “Tweeting, “I urge you to #StayHomeSaveLives during this #COVID19pandemic”
