The Ellen DeGeneres Show: Producers Finally REACT To Allegations Of ‘Toxic’ Workplace

The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been in the limelight for a while now. However, the reasons aren’t very favourable. It all began with employees accusing the show of non-payment of dues. Soon after, Nikkie de Jager and Ellen’s ex-bodyguard called out the host for her mean behaviour. However, the producers have finally decided to speak up!

For the unversed, as many as 11 employees (10 former and 1 current) recently got into a conversation with Buzzfeed. The shocking part remained that they referred to the work environment as ‘toxic.’ They even shared their ordeals and called out the three producers – Mary Connelly, Ed Glavin and Andy Lassner.

Many mentioned that not Ellen DeGeneres, but it was Mary, Ed and Andy who promoted bullying and mean behaviour on the sets. However, the trio has now come out in the open. They, as expected, have refuted the claims of the employees.

Three of The Ellen DeGeneres show producers have issued a joint statement to Entertainment Tonight. It begins “Over the course of nearly two decades, 3,000 episodes, and employing over 1000 staff members, we have strived to create an open, safe, and inclusive work environment. We are truly heartbroken and sorry to learn that even one person in our production family has had a negative experience.”

They even mentioned and clarified mean rumours around DeGeneres. “It’s not who we are and not who we strive to be, and not the mission Ellen has set for us. For the record, the day to day responsibility of the Ellen show is completely on us. We take all of this very seriously and we realize, as many in the world are learning, that we need to do better, are committed to do better, and we will do better,” concluded the statement.
