People across the globe went in a state of shock following the sudden demise of world-renowned Italian musician Ennio Morricone. The Oscar-winning musician breathed his last in his hometown Rome. He was 91. The news of his death spread all across like wildfire, following which various celebrities from across the world including Kollywood superstar Kamal Haasan mourned the loss.
Kamal Haasan took to his Twitter handle to pen an emotional note that read, “Guru #EnnioMorricone. Sire we shall never miss you! You’ve given enough music to listen, live
with, improvise and go beyond. Thank you & Salutes! He’ll never be called
late Mr.Morricone. He will always be on time.”

More about Ennio Morricone, in his career spanning over five decades, Ennio Morricone had given scores to almost 400 films, TV shows, as well as over 100 classical works. He was nominated for six Oscars, and in 2016, received his only competitive Academy Award for his score to Quentin Tarantino’s film The Hateful Eight, at the time becoming the oldest person ever to win a competitive Oscar.
Ennio Morricone ‘s other achievements include three Grammy Awards, three Golden Globes, six BAFTAs, ten David di Donatello, eleven Nastro d’Argento, two European Film Awards, the Golden Lion Honorary Award and the Polar Music Prize in 2010.
Ennio Morricone is survived by his wife Maria Travia and their four children.
