The track ‘Dil Chori’ from ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ is being liked by everyone. It has received millions of views on YouTube and is a chartbuster. However, one cannot ignore the fact that the picturisation of the song is quite similar to the track ‘Badtameez Dil’ from ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.
Recently, when director Luv Ranjan was asked about ‘Dil Chori’ looking like a copy of ‘Badtameez Dil’, the actor said, “Understand one thing that we are all growing up watching the stuff that we are watching. People who are saying that its a copy of ‘Badtameez Dil’, if they look back 10 years, they will find that even a ‘Badtameez Dil’ has its roots somewhere. ‘Badtameez Dil’ was not the first time when a hero wore a suit in a party.”
“Second thing, Ayan (Mukerji) does songs very well I have to give it to him, main to special thanks dal doon (give special thanks credit). So, if someone is doing a good work and if you liked his work, there’s nothing wrong in it that. If you have liked something, then there will be influence seen in your work. I had never done a party song that big. What happens is people get confused because they don’t understand the process. It’s an engagement song, what will I make the guy wear, I can’t make him wear dhoti, I will make him wear suit only. And I didn’t want to make him wear a red suit, if I would have made him wear red, then people would have said it is inspired by Govinda from ‘Partner’. So, I made him wear black,” he added.
Talking about ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, the film, which stars Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Singh and Nushrat Bharucha, will be hitting the screens February 23, 2018. (Also Read: ‘Padmaavat’ storm pushes ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ release date)
