Last evening saw the biggest of award ceremonies in Bollywood, taking place. We are talking about Filmfare Awards, the coveted black lady that most performers hope of taking back home. All the winners had a big, bright smile as they took home the trophies, but wait, here’s more, and from another award ceremony that took place miles away, and involves a movie that broke records not last year, but in the year 2016.
We are talking about Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Sultan’, which was a love story against the backdrop of boxing as a sport.
Yes, the movie has won big at the 11th Tehran International Film Festival, and the Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma have been given awards for the Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively.
Looks like the reign of ‘Sultan’ is still on. A double whammy for Salman as he is already riding high on the success of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ which has broken all the records back home in Bollywood. This success is also a big moment for ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ director Ali Abbas Zafar as ‘Sultan’ was his directorial venture. And for Anushka, this indeed comes as a big accolade post her recent marriage with cricketer Virat Kohli.
