We love it when Bollywood beauties ditch the fancy gowns or over-the-top beauty looks and opt for something desi. And when we came across Konkona Sen Sharma’s all-black saree look at the recently held Filmfare Awards 2018, her neckpiece was love at first sight for us.
Royal, silvery Afghani statement pieces have made a huge comeback now and Konkona embraced the trend head on. For starters, the lady stepped out in this gorgeous black saree from designer Anavila Sindhu Misra that was extremely classy. It had subtle, silver zari work all over and the actress clubbed it with a cotton black blouse.
But here’s the interesting part. The way Konkona accessorised the desi ensemble, took it many notches higher. She opted for a silver, long Afghani necklace from Amrapali Jewels in hues of red and green amidst the intricate chandelier design. The huge statement piece was eye-catching and spruced up the look in a jiffy. It’s the perfect accessory for an all-black OOTD as it saves your time and effort spent on the makeup or hairdo. Seriously, just throw in an Afghani neckpiece with a simple outfit, and you’re good to go.
She also wore a stack of silver and red bangles that complemented the neckpiece. It was the perfect blend of chic and uber pretty. The actress stuck to her signature middle-parted, wavy hair left loose. And chose nude lips along with subtle kohled eyes. She rounded off the look with red nails that added an element of contrast to the outfit. And needless to say, Konkona’s elegance and strong personality made the outfit ‘wow’.
