Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar-starrer ‘Hindi Medium’ is undoubtedly one of the best films of 2017. The movie this year won Best Film (Popular) at Filmfare Awards and Irrfan Khan was honoured with Best Actor (Popular). Well, we recently interacted with the producer of the film Dinesh Vijan, and he spoke to us at length about his film winning the award at Filmfare.
While talking about winning the Filmfare Best Film Award (Popular), Dinesh said, “‘Hindi Medium’ is a kind of film that audiences made a hit. I don’t know anyone who didn’t like the film. So, because of the kind of love the film got, I felt that it was a deserving contender and you know how awards are sometimes, but this time, the night that we won, it was pure content that has won, across the board, not just us. Irrfan won Best Actor Popular, Rajkummar Rao has won, all the awards are based on content which is very encouraging for us to take on 2018 with a renewed interest.”
“Everybody at Maddock (Films), the whole team is really fired up. I think an award is like a validation of the work you have put in. I really would like to thank Filmfare and the entire jury, and everybody. You all are also talking about that this year all the winners were on merit which is very heartening. You know that you can put in hard work and you will be rewarded,” he added.
