Hit & Run Case: Supreme Court to hear PIL against Salman Khan’s Bail
The superstar of Bollywood Salman Khan was celebrating the success of his recent release Bajrangi Bhaijaan. But in a shocking blow to his happiness, the honorable Supreme Court has accepted to listen to a PIL against the Bombay High Court's order to grant bail to the Khan in the 2002 Hit & Run Case.
Salman Khan was granted bail by the High Court, who had also suspended the actors sentence of years, in the Hit & Run Case. The High Court had even awarded a 48-hour interim bail to the actor. days before the grant of regular bail.
A PIL was filed by an activist Yashwant Singh, a journalist, who had alleged that Salman Khan has been given preferential treatment. Also such bias violates legal principles. It also added that the sessions court "passed the order of conviction & the order of sentencing on the same day, which is in violation of judgement of the Supreme Court of India".
